About Us

The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension[DLL&E], formerly the Department of Adult Continuing Education,Extension & Field Outreach [ACEEFO] started functioning in 1991 as a statutory academic department as per UGC guidelines. Lifelong Education means Development Education; It is not merely post-literacy training. The Department uses a variety of methods for development education and continuing education. The activities of the Department include Grama Vikas Kendra, Personality Development Centre, projects and surveys, various short term weekend courses as well as extension activities.

All the academic and extension programmes of the Department are carried out strictly in accordance with University Regulations and UGC Guidelines for Departments of Lifelong Learning and Extension.

The Department now functions at the ‘Ettukettu’ building adjacent to the Main Administrative Block. The Ettukettu is designed on the traditional Kerala architecture.
