Director Message

Welcome from the Head of Department

Dear Visitors,

Welcome to the webpage of Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE), a statutory teaching and research department of Mahatma Gandhi University.  It is my privilege to introduce you to a department that fosters a dynamic and enriching learning environment for all students.  At DLLE, we are committed to not only delivering high-quality education but also nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.  We also aim and equip to support the society with various extension activities with the experience and expertise of our resources.  The programmes we conduct viz., Certificate Programmes on Counselling, Organic Farming, Yoga and many more on weekends enlighten the support to the society where we exist. Students of our Department range from farmers to retired Government official and teachers with age group ranging from 20’s to 80’s.

Mahatma Gandhi University has received various prestigious awards, grades and recognitions.  This includes Category 1 Graded Autonomy by UGC, NAAC A++ grade from National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC),  Category 1, Rank between 401 – 500 in 2025 (2nd among Indian Universities) in Times Higher Education The World University Ranking, 1st in the country in Times Higher Education Young University Ranking, NIRF Rank of 37 at University level, 7th among Indian Universities in India Today ranking and Chancellors award for three times are a few of them.

Our department prides itself on a diverse and innovative curriculum that prepares students for the challenges of the future. Whether you’re engaging with the foundational subjects or exploring specialized fields viz., Counselling and Psychology, we aim to provide an inclusive, stimulating, and supportive space for growth.   The curriculum is regularly updated to reflect the latest developments.

Beyond the classroom, we emphasize collaboration, character-building, and the development of strong interpersonal skills. We encourage our students to explore their passions, participate in extracurricular activities, and work together to create a positive and vibrant community.

Internships and live projects provide hands on experience to our students to acquire knowledge and skills that will enable them to contribute meaningfully to organizations and society.
