The Master of Arts in Counselling is designed to train students and help them to develop the essential professional knowledge, understanding, skills, and competencies required in the field of counselling. The programme will help to mould students’ understanding of the basic foundations of human behaviour, adjustment mechanisms, adaptive functions of behaviour, and mental health issues. The programme helps the students to learn competencies such as interviewing clients, understanding the adaptive and maladaptive functions of behaviour, and functioning effectively using appropriate strategies in the helping process. This programme also equip the students to use appropriate tests in a counselling setting.
